Jaipur, Sept. 26 -- Jaipur police commissioner Biju George Jospeh on Thursday said that a total 475 cases under the NDPS act have been lodged in Jaipur this year. Addressing the newspersons, he said, "The Jaipur police is taking regular actions against the drug smugglers following which a significant decline in such smuggling cases was noticed." He further added, "We have seized over Rs.11 crore drug substances in these 475 cases. However, most of the accused in these cases are the smugglers at the lower level. Our target is to nab the kingpins and crack the bigger networks." Urging the people to report any drug-smuggling related incidents, he said, "We need people's cooperation for this job. Recently we have seized a Rs.1 crore smack consignment, a Rs.25 lakh MD consignment, and a 37,410 Alprazolam and Tranadol consignment based on public inputs."...
