Chittorgarh, Oct. 16 -- A joint team of the District Special Team (DST), food safety department and Rashmi police seized 413 kg of suspected adulterated or counterfeit ghee from a house and shop in Rashmi town of Chittorgarh district on Wednesday. Food safety officials collected samples of the seized ghee and initiated the process of sending them to a laboratory for testing. The actual quality and authenticity of the product will be established after the test results are received, they said. District SP Dharmendra Singh said,"Acting on a tip-off received by DST team in-charge ASI Suraj Kumar, the team was informed that ghee was allegedly being stored and sold illegally at the house and shop of one Anil Pokharna in Rashmi town." The DST team, along with food safety officials and Rashmi police, held searches at the spot.
