Jaipur, Aug. 19 -- A 40-year-old constable of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) on Monday died by suicide in the Jhunjhunu district after attempting to kill his wife and minor son with a sword over an internal dispute, police said. Jhunjhunu DSP Virendra Sharma said, "The incident happened at around 4 am on Monday." "The constable's body was recovered from a local railway track. His wife has been sent to Jaipur for treatment while son is undergoing treatment in Jhunjhunu only," he added. The constable had returned home on leave last month to meet his family, said Sharma. "He also brought a sword from his village. At around 4am, a heated argument started between the couple during which the accused took out the sword, launched a brutal attack on his wife and their son," DSP said. "His wife's two fingers were chopped off while her son also sustained a severe injury on his neck. They were rushed to a local hospital from where the woman was referred to Jaipur Sawai Man Singh hospital for better treatment," he said. "At around 7 am, we received another call that a body has been found on the railway track. Later, we identified the man as the accused," said the DSP, adding that a case of attempt to murder has been filed under relevant sections of BNS. "His body has been sent for an autopsy. We will question his wife and other family members. Further probe is underway," he added....
