4 of family killed as SUV rams into bikes
Jaipur, Oct. 23 -- Four people were killed and three others injured after a speeding SUV rammed into three motorcycles on NH-52 in Jaipur district's Chomu area early Wednesday, police said.
Police said the accident occurred near Rampura Pulia around 3am when the victims - residents of Jaipur's Kardhani area - were returning home after visiting the Khatu Shyamji temple.
One person died on the spot, while six others were rushed to the Chomu Government Hospital. They were later referred to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, where three succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The deceased were identified as Virendra Srivastava (55), Sunil Srivastava (50), Shweta Srivastava (26), and her husband Lucky Srivastava (30).
All belonged to the same family. The three injured are currently undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital.
Police said the SUV driver fled the scene after the crash, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
The vehicles involved have been seized, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS....
