34-yr-old woman, 4 children found dead in Sikar; police suspect murder-suicide
Bharatpur/Sikar, Oct. 12 -- A 34-year-old woman and her four children, including three minors, were found dead at their house in Sikar district on Saturday, with police suspecting it to be a case of murder-suicide, officers aware of the details said.
According to police, the incident took place at the Anirudh Residency on Palwas road in Sadar Sikar police station limits. The incident came to light after police received information from locals about a foul smell emanating from a flat in Anirudh Residency, officers said.
Sadar Sikar police station in-charge Indraj Marodia said that upon reaching the spot, officers found the bodies of the four people -- the woman, her daughters aged 18 and 13, her sons aged five and three.
Officers said the forensics team was called to the spot to collect samples, and the bodies were later transported to the hospital. The bodies have since been placed in the district hospital's mortuary and they will be handed over to the family following post-mortem examination.
Police said that the incident is likely to be a case of murder-suicide after recovering suspected packets of poison from the flat.
Officials added that no suicide note was found from the house.
According to police, the woman and the children were living separately after a dispute with her husband.
Officers said that the flat was closed for a week before the foul smell caught the attention of neighbours....
