Jaipur, Sept. 30 -- The prison department has seized at least 32 mobile phones in the last 21 days from only Jaipur Central Jail, officials said. This comes amid several security breach incidents being reported across the central jails in Rajasthan. A senior official from the department said, "This was found during our sudden inspection drive across the central jails. At least 32 mobile phones have been seized in the last 21 days from only the Jaipur Central Jail for which at least 17 FIRs have been lodged. We are probing the matter." According to the officials, the drive was started on September 7 which is still ongoing. "This phones also include that of a murder accused, who along with 7 other inmates, made reels and posted them on social media from Jaipur central jail on September 15," said the officer. "There are multiple ways through which these prisoners sourced mobile phones inside the jail. While we suspect some were supplied from outside using the boundary wall, many were also supplied by lower ranked officials in exchange for bribes," said the officer quoted above. He added: "Our teams are checking CCTV footage and interrogating the accused and also the jail staff regarding these cases. Further probe is underway." This also came days after two prisoners tried to escape the jail on September 20 by scaling a 27-feet boundary wall of the Jaipur central jail following which 11 jail officials including a deputy jailor had been suspended....
