Bharatpur, Sept. 20 -- Police on Friday busted a gang and arrested three members involved in cheating people through fake lottery schemes in Bharatpur. The arrested accused have been identified as Subhash Yadav (32), Karan Jogia (22), and Gaurav Jogi (28), all residents of Shahganj in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The gang consists of five members, of whom three have been arrested while two are absconding. According to City Circle Officer Pankaj Yadav, the gang members, based in Shahganj, Agra, used to cheat people in Bharatpur and parts of Uttar Pradesh by luring them with promises of doubling their money. Victims would often hand over their gold jewellery to "win" a lottery, after which the gang would disappear. The gang is linked to at least five cases registered under Kotwali, Mathura Gate, and Sewar police stations in Bharatpur. Several other cases are also registered against them in Uttar Pradesh. "No gold jewellery has been recovered so far. Efforts are being made to recover the jewellery from the arrested accused," Yadav said....
