2 RIICO officials held in bribery cases: ACB
Ajmer, July 11 -- Two officials at the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), including a senior deputy general manager (DGM) due to retire later this month, were arrested in Ajmer and Beawar on Friday for allegedly accepting an Rs.85,000 bribe to execute a lease deed, the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said.
The Ajmer operation was led by ACB Jaipur ASP Manoj Gupta, while the Beawar operation was led by ASP Gyan Prakash Naval, said the statement.
The accused were identified as DGM Anjay Vishwakarma and junior assistant Kamlesh, said the statement, adding that Vishwakarma was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting Rs.50,000 at the RIICO Unit Head office in Ajmer.
Simultaneously, Kamlesh was trapped while allegedly accepting Rs.35,000 in Beawar.
The action followed a complaint alleging that the two officials had demanded a total bribe of Rs.85,000 for executing a lease deed.
After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and carried out coordinated raids at both locations.
Vishwakarma, who is substantively posted in Kishangarh and was holding additional charge of the Ajmer office, is due to retire on July 31.
Officials aware of the matter said the probe into the case was still underway....
