Bharatpur, Aug. 20 -- A 16-year-old girl died allegedly by suicide reportedly due to sexual exploitation by her 18-year-old schoolmate in Bharatpur, police said on Tuesday. Hamendra Singh, Atalband police station in-charge, said the incident took place on Monday night but her family came to know about it on Tuesday morning when she didn't come out of her room. He said that though no suicide note was recovered but the girl had reportedly told her family about being sexually assaulted by a schoolmate. "After her death, her family members have registered a complaint alleging that one of her schoolmate, who was her boyfriend, had sexually assaulted her and threatened her to circulate her obscene photos. The girl was a student of class 11 in a private school," Singh said. The officer said the body has been handed over to her parents after post-mortem examination and an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
