125k jobs provided in Raj, 135k more soon: Sharma
Jaipur, June 1 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday said his government has taken decisive steps to fulfil the aspirations of the state's youth, with employment generation and skill development at the centre of its agenda.
Addressing a youth interaction programme at the Chief Minister's residence, Sharma said the government is working towards providing 400,000 government jobs and facilitating employment opportunities for 600,000 youth in the private sector.
He said more than 125,000 appointments to government posts have already been made, while recruitment processes for over 135,000 posts are underway. In addition, a recruitment calendar for another 125,000 government vacancies has been released for the current year.
The CM said the government had taken strict action against those involved in examination paper leaks. "The culprits have been sent behind bars, and more than 350 examinations have been conducted during our tenure without any paper leak," he said, adding that a new youth policy has also been introduced to create greater opportunities for young people.
Highlighting efforts to boost self-employment, Sharma said Atal Gyan Kendras are being developed at the village level to help students prepare for competitive examinations. Nearly 400,000 youth have received skill training, while 436 employment assistance camps have been organised across the state, he said. Under the Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme, the loan limit eligible for a 6% interest reimbursement has been increased to Rs.2 crore, with loans worth Rs.248 crore already sanctioned, he said, adding that funding support has also been extended under the Rajasthan Startup Programme.
The chief minister outlined the government's broader development agenda, saying major projects aimed at addressing Rajasthan's water needs-including the Ram Jal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna water agreement-are being fast-tracked. He said work is also underway on strengthening the Indira Gandhi Canal Project and Gang Canal, expanding the Dewas Project, and advancing the Brahmani River and Mahi Dam projects.
Sharma reiterated the government's commitment to providing daytime electricity to all farmers in Rajasthan by 2027, noting that farmers in 26 districts are already receiving daytime power supply.
On investment and economic growth, Sharma said the state secured investment commitments worth Rs.35 lakh crore during the Rising Rajasthan summit, with projects worth Rs.9 lakh crore already taking shape on the ground.
The chief minister said Rajasthan offers significant employment potential in sectors such as dairy, cooperatives, tourism and mining, and urged young people to explore opportunities in these fields....
