Jaipur, Sept. 17 -- Rajasthan has recorded the plantation of over 101 million saplings so far in this financial year under the state government's Hariyalo Rajasthan plantation campaign. According to data available on the departmental portal, 101,066,212 saplings had been planted across state as of September 15 under the campaign. Of these, 3,211,856 were individual plantations, while 97,854,356 were part of block plantations. On September 15 alone, 550,841 saplings were planted across Rajasthan, taking the cumulative plantation figure beyond the 101 million mark for 2026-27. The plantation activities have been recorded at 163,848 sites across the state. Block plantation has emerged as the major component of the campaign, accounting for 88,938,398 saplings. In addition, 6,595,925 saplings have been planted using Miyawaki method, while 2,320,033 saplings have been planted in fruit orchards. Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma congratulated government departments and the public for their contribution to the plantation drive and urged people to continue participating in the campaign. The state government said the campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, has seen large-scale participation over the past three years.
