India, July 31 -- A ctor and musician Jared Leto has denied allegations of sexual misconduct detailed in the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, calling the claims "absolutely and categorically false". The documentary features accounts from 10 women who allege inappropriate or sexual behaviour by the Oscar-winning actor. Four of them have accused Leto of serious sexual misconduct during encounters between 2002 and 2016, when they were teenagers or young adults. One woman alleges that Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom when she was 17, while another claims she had sex with him in California at the same age, which would constitute statutory rape under the state's law. A third woman alleges that he made sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16, while another claims he threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. Responding to the allegations, the 54-year-old, stating through his team, told the The Hollywood Reporter, "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false." The BBC said it had corroborated several accounts through conversations with friends and family, as well as photographs and messages.
