Alwar, April 5 -- Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "surrendering" to US President Donald Trump, branding the BJP government a failure that is bowing to foreign pressure and failing people on inflation, elections and development. Addressing a gathering of Congress workers in Kotputli as part of the ongoing campaign to save the constitution, he said, "India's image at the global platform is deteriorating. It is bowing down before the USA. Our Prime Minister has surrendered before the USA. It is an unfortunate situation." He added: "This double engine government has failed on all fronts across the country. People are not getting any relief under their rule. The government is preoccupied with politics rather than addressing problems of the common people." Referring to the ongoing LPG cylinder crisis, Dotasra criticised the BJP government for failing to control inflation, provide relief to people, while youth lose hope and development stalls. Dotasra criticised the government for delaying local bodies polls and granting repetitive extensions to the OBC commission. "It is a must to conduct the local bodies polls every five years. The court directed to conduct the election by April 15. But now the government said that the OBC commission's work is pending and therefore they were given a six-month extension till September. The high court ordered to form the OBC Commission and conduct a survey in 2022. Why didn't they set it up soon after coming to power? These are only some excuses to delay the election." He said the government is scared and therefore delaying the election. "They know that they will never win this election. They have realised the pulse of the people. To avoid facing a major defeat, they are not even holding the poll." Dotasra urged Congress workers to visit labourers, farmers, small traders and other common people daily, listen to their sufferings and raise their voice. "If our workers continue working like this, the people will get free from this terrible BJP government in 2028. It is only the Congress who is fighting to save the democracy." BJP spokesperson Ram Lal Sharma said, "Nobody takes Dotasra seriously. PM has negotiated with the USA and cracked a good trade deal which would be benefitial for the farmers and other small industries. Congress has been cancelled by the common people and Dotasra is venting his frustration."...
