'Filling med vacancies in tribal area priority'
Jaipur, Feb. 13 -- The medical and health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar on Thursday told the assembly that the state government is giving priority to filling medical staff vacancies in tribal and border regions. He said the government has set a target of recruiting 50,000 personnel in the medical and health sector.
Replying to supplementary questions raised by Ghatol MLA Nanalal Ninama during Question Hour, Khimsar said that around 29,000 gazetted and non-gazetted officers have already been appointed so far. He added that through effective planning and management, the state currently has an adequate number of nursing staff and assured the House that vacant posts at the Community Health Centre in Ghatol would be filled on priority.
In a written reply to the main question, the minister presented detailed information before the House regarding sanctioned, filled and vacant posts under the gazetted and non-gazetted cadres at the Ghatol CHC, along with the number of personnel working under the National Health Mission (NHM).
The minister said the recruitment drive is aimed at improving access to healthcare in remote and underserved regions, particularly in tribal belts and border districts, by ensuring the availability of essential medical staff....
