BIKANER, Sept. 23 -- Principals and teachers of schools across Rajasthan have been asked to ensure a 500 metre drug free zone around their campuses, including restrictions on the sale and use of tobacco, smoking products and narcotic substances in the area, and to immediately report violations . The directorate of secondary education has issued the directive to all divisional joint directors and education authorities across the state. It covers government, government-aided, private and residential schools. According to the order, issued by Rajesh Goswami, district education officer (Quality & Innovation), the schools must prominently display anti-drug warning sign boards outside their campuses. The order also provides for monitoring through the Nasha Mukt Vidyalaya Portal. The state home department (Group-9) and the school education department will monitor compliance every month.
