Won't allow anyone to tamper with faith of Devbhoomi: CM
Dehradun, June 25 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said that future generations deserved a secure Uttarakhand, and that safeguarding the faith associated with "Devbhoomi" was the responsibility of the state government.
"No one will be allowed to tamper with the faith and reverence associated with Devbhoomi and its original character. It is our responsibility to preserve Uttarakhand for the future," Dhami said while addressing the 'Amar Ujala Samvad' programme in Dehradun.
Dhami also bestowed the "Amar Ujala Lifetime Achievement Award'" on actor Rakesh Bedi and unveiled the "Amar Ujala Uttarakhand Achievers" special edition.
Dhami used the event to highlight the state government's strides in the field of heritage conservation and development. "Uttarakhand has introduced a mechanism to assess Gross Environment Product (GEP), enabling a balanced approach towards ecology, economy and technology while taking into account the state's fragile Himalayan geography," he said....
