Dehradun, Aug. 15 -- A 27-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly carrying 1.648 kg of ganja in New Patel Nagar, Dehradun, police said on Friday. The accused, Renu Sahani, was arrested near Goswami Chowk during a routine checking operation on Thursday evening, according to Patel Nagar police. She is currently residing as a tenant in the Goswami Chowk area of New Patel Nagar. Police said the arrest was made as part of a drive against drug trafficking being carried out under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dehradun, Pramendra Dobhal in line with the Uttarakhand government's "Drug-Free Devbhoomi" campaign.
