Wheel theft spree rattles sectors 90, 93 in gurugram
Gurugram, May 11 -- Residents of newer sectors in Gurugram have raised concerns over a series of thefts in which wheels of parked four-wheelers have been stolen from residential areas in recent weeks.
In the latest incident, wheels from at least twelve cars were stolen on Thursday night in sectors 90 and 93. FIRs were registered at Kherki Daula Police Station and Sector 93 Police Station, according to police.
Satya Ram, a resident of New Town Heights in sector 90, found all four wheels of his vehicle missing after parking it in the designated area outside his society. "The cars are found resting on bricks, with their wheel alloys stolen," he said. CCTV footage revealed a Maruti Suzuki Omni without a number plate at the scene.
"We checked the CCTV footage and saw a van without a number plate, from which individuals got out and stole the wheels," Ram said.
Meanwhile, resident Anuj Gupta noted the same van had been spotted near multiple theft sites. "This certainly raises questions about patrolling," he said.
Sandeep Turan, public relations officer, Gurugram Police, said patrolling has been intensified in the affected areas. "Patrolling has been intensified in the area, and we will nab the accused soon," he said....
