Gurugram, Sept. 25 -- At least 120 people, including former Naheda sarpanch Mohammad Nasru, 43, were booked after a procession celebrating his release on bail allegedly blocked traffic on Jurhera Road in Nuh, police said. Videos showed participants brandishing countrymade pistols. Police registered the FIR on Tuesday after videos of the September 19 procession were shared on social media. Nasru was arrested on August 22 for allegedly embezzling about Rs.19 lakh in public money and taking away government records on village development works. A court granted him bail on September 19, and he was released the same day. Police said his supporters then took out a 2km procession from Bada Mod on Jurhera Road to Naheda, comprising 14 vehicles and 40 motorcycles. Current sarpanch Zubair Khan, whose complaint led to the fresh FIR, alleged that participants climbed onto vehicle roofs and played loud music, while Nasru was garlanded as he stood through a car's sunroof. Police said participants also set off fireworks in the village. Nuh police spokesperson Krishna Kumar said 10 to 12 suspects had been identified from videos and would be arrested.
