New Delhi, April 8 -- The Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC) has declined to clear a proposal for a promenade and underground plaza linked to the Yuga Yugeen Bharat Museum Metro station in the Central Vista precinct, citing design concerns and planning norms.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) proposal pertains to Grade I heritage North and South Block buildings. DUAC flagged travelators as unsuitable, recommending "the removal of both travelators to maintain an unobstructed and functional pedestrian corridor."
It also sought better shading, suggesting solar panels, and design changes for the 92m ramp. "...larger-capacity lifts can be clustered on one side.," it said.
CPWD did not respond to HT's queries.snehil sinha...
