Gurugram, June 13 -- The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has sought four land parcels, each measuring 50 hectares, for the Delhi-Panipat-Karnal and the SKK-Gurugram-Bawal Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) projects, according to the NCRTC. It stated that two parcels each have been requested for the two corridors to ensure projects' viability through commercial development. The corporation also sought a share of stamp duty revenue as per the transit development norms for metro and rail projects. It asked the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) to allot land for the proposed RRTS depot in Pachgaon instead of Dharuhera, where it was originally planned. In a communique to HMRTC in February, NCRTC stated that the Haryana government has approved the detailed project reports (DPRs) for two Namo Bharat RRTS corridors and these reports are presently under consideration by the Government of India. A meeting in this regard was held earlier this month. An NCRTC spokesperson, when asked about the matter, said that the corporation has sought land from the Haryana government as per the provisions of the detailed project report, as this land would be developed to generate revenue for the metro corporation. An official aware of the matter said: "A decision was taken at the government level that land would be transferred to NCRTC as soon as the tender for civil construction is floated. Some of the land has already been identified for transfer."...
