Dehradun, June 1 -- Congress' Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Selja arrived in the state on Sunday for a two-day visit to review organisational preparedness and discuss arrangements for senior Congress leader and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's proposed visit to Uttarakhand on June 4 and 5. Selja said Gandhi will address a public meeting in Almora and participate in an interaction with ex-servicemen in Pauri Garhwal during his visit. He is also scheduled to meet party leaders and office-bearers in Dehradun. "Rahul Gandhi's visit will energise the organisation. There is enthusiasm among party workers and the public. With the assembly elections a few months away, his visit will mark the beginning of our campaign," Selja said. Claiming that public sentiment was turning against BJP, she said people were looking for political change in the state."The BJP government's policies and the promises it has failed to fulfil have generated widespread resentment among the people. There is a growing hope that Congress can provide an alternative," she said. Selja said several senior Congress leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, would also visit Uttarakhand ahead of the assembly elections....
