Dehradun, Aug. 2 -- Union environment, forest and climate change minister Bhupender Yadav on Saturday urged newly inducted Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers to combine ethics, innovation and compassion in public service, saying they would play a crucial role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Addressing the convocation of the 2024 IFS batch at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA) in Dehradun, Yadav presented certificates and medals to the graduating officers. A total of 111 officers, including 109 IFS probationers and two officer trainees from Bhutan, completed the academy's 20-month training programme. Of them, 75 secured more than 75% marks and received the Honours Diploma. "The young officers passing out today will lead the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047," Yadav said. He urged them to use innovation, modern technology and public participation to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and desertification.
