Bikaner, Sept. 28 -- A case has been registered against a hotel owner after a 36-year-old woman accused him of sexual assault, police said on Saturday. The reported assault took place on Thursday and the formal complaint was lodged on Friday, deputy superintendent of Sadar police circle Vishal Jangid said. According to the police complaint, the 36-year-old woman, a real estate consultant, had arrived in Bikaner on September 18 and checked into a hotel in Lalgarh palace campus, in the Bichhwal police station area, where she met the accused hotel owner identified as Amit Agarwal for the first time. The victim alleges that following their meeting, the accused began to stalk herand interfere in her personal affairs. She said he followed her even when she went to the temple and kept an eye on her every activity. In her report, the woman stated that the hotel owner pressured her to drink alcohol with him on Thursday, when he took her to the hotel rooftop and forced her to drink and then raped her. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 64(1) and 115(2) of the BNS and the medical examination of the victim has been conducted on Saturday, Jangid said. Earlier, on August 4, a Philippine Resident, who was in Bikaner on a working visa, filed a complaint at Bichwal police station, alleging that she was sexually assaulted by one Deendayal Gaur, a Jodhpur resident in the same hotel, but the complainant later changed her statements and withdrew the case the next day.
