Dehradun, Aug. 5 -- The state Congress unit on Tuesday launched a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) monitoring control room at its state headquarters in Dehradun to assist voters receiving notices under the Election Commission's ongoing electoral roll revision exercise. Party leaders said the initiative followed directions by state party chief Ganesh Godiyal. who ordered the party to constitute 10-member SIR monitoring committees in every district and metropolitan unit to help eligible voters complete the verification process.The control room was inaugurated in the presence of state Congress general secretary (organisation) Rajendra Bhandari. Addressing party workers, he said the the district and Mahanagar committees would actively reach out to voters who had received notices from the Election Commission, provide guidance and help resolve issues arising during the process to address complaints. "The objective is to ensure that no eligible voter in Uttarakhand is deprived of his or her constitutional right to vote," Bhandari said.
