Blaze causes damage at Sec 84 flat, no injuries reported
Gurugram, May 18 -- A fire broke out at a Sector 84 society on Sunday morning, damaging furniture and wooden fixtures inside a flat at the residential complex, fire department officials said.
According to officials, the blaze was reported at around 8.09am from flat number 902 in AC-1 Tower of the Antriksh Heights society. Fire tenders from Sector 37 and IMT Manesar fire stations were dispatched at 8.10am and reached the spot within 15 minutes.
Narender Kumar, leading fireman at Sector 37 fire station, said the fire was brought under control within half an hour. "Fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the spot after we received the fire call at 8.09am. Both tenders reached the society within fifteen minutes," Kumar said.
Officials said no injuries were reported in the incident. "No one was present inside the flat during the incident," the society's security staff said, requesting anonymity.
According to preliminary findings, the blaze is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit in the air conditioning unit of the flat, though investigations are still underway. "No one sustained any injuries during the incident. The fire was contained within thirty minutes," Kumar added.
The affected flat sustained damage mainly to furniture and wooden work, officials added.
Officials said the fire tenders returned to their respective stations at around 9.35am after completing the operation....
