New Delhi, July 13 -- Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) (Honours), B.Com (Pass) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Hons) English emerged as the top three preferred undergraduate programmes at Delhi University, the institution said on Sunday, a day before the end of the second phase of admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. The other most preferred courses were BA (Hons) Political Science, BA programme, BA (Hons) History, Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons) Zoology, BSc (Hons) Mathematics, BSc (Hons) Life Sciences and BA (Hons) Economics. Delhi University said around 270,000 applicants had signed up on its admission portal, with nearly 218,000 completing registration as of Sunday, including 120,509 female and 97,775 male candidates. Applicants can revise their preferences until 4.59pm on Monday based on the simulated ranks released on Sunday. A simulated rank is an indicative rank based on a candidate's Common University Entrance Test score and submitted preferences, enabling applicants to assess admission prospects before the final seat allocation. "A simulated rank, based on the data of candidates registered until 5pm on July 12, has been released, allowing students to view their tentative rank based on their marks and the number of applicants for respective courses. The preference change window will remain open till 4:59pm. Monday," said dean of admissions Haneet Gandhi. The second phase of admissions will conclude on Monday. The allocation-cum-admission process under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) will begin with the first allocation list on July 16, while the last date for fee payment is July 21. Delhi University is offering 71,600 UG seats across 73 courses and more than 150 BA combinations through 67 affiliated colleges. Candidates allotted seats can accept them, complete document verification and fee payment, or opt for an upgrade. "Once the candidates submit their programme fees within a stipulated round, they will get an opportunity to choose the 'upgrade/freeze' option. Candidates who choose 'upgrade' will be able to reorder their higher preferences," DU said. The second allocation list will be released on July 25, with fee payment closing on July 28....
