New Delhi, June 21 -- Delhi Police on Saturday arrested 34-year-old carpenter for allegedly assaulting his wife and two children, causing the death of his two-year-old son at Mithapur near Jaitpur, southeast Delhi. The assault took place Friday afternoon at Lakhpat Colony Part-II. DCP (southeast) Hemant Tiwari said Jaitpur police station received a call around 1.30pm; the wife, said the accused was addicted to alcohol and narcotics, assaulted her and their minor children after a domestic dispute. "The injured minor was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital. Despite treatment, the child succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning," Tiwari added.
