Gurugram, Aug. 14 -- Three unidentified suspects were booked on Thursday for allegedly opening fire inside a society lift in Sector 52, said police. Police said that the incident took place at 1am on Sunday. According to investigators, the incident came to light after residents spotted a hole in the lift's metal structure at Prashant Cooperative Group Housing Society. After checking the CCTV footage of the lift's lobby, it was seen that three suspects, one carrying a firearm, entered the lift, following which a loud sound came from the lift, police said. Narender Singh, the society president, submitted a written complaint against unidentified suspects at Sector 53 police station, following which a case under the Arms Act was registered. Singh alleged that there is continuous movement of suspicious elements in a flat in the society. "The suspects had also visited the society on Saturday. Multiple times, residents had spotted them arriving at one of the flats with firearms," he alleged. Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said, "Police have collected the CCTV camera footage. An investigation has been launched, and suspects will be arrested soon once identified."...
