India, Dec. 11 -- Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani slammed musician Anuv Jain for an "embarrassing" act during English musician Jacob Collier's Mumbai concert on November 30. A clip showing Anuv crooning his hit Baarishein alongside Jacob has viewers criticising the vocals as 'flat', 'lacklustre', and 'ill-suited' to the high-octane setup. Vishal, who often publicly calls out 'weak live acts', wrote under an Instagram post: "Is it necessary to keep doing embarrassing sh*te like this? Is it part of some corporate mandate somewhere?" As the backlash grew, several artistes rushed to defend Anuv. Singer Neha Bhasin commented, "With all due respect, didn't Jacob invite him over all other talent in India. Toh enjoy."
