India, Aug. 9 -- In a room filled with designers, craft practitioners and textile enthusiasts, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in association with Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), marked the 12th National Handloom Day at the RISA flagship store in Delhi on Friday. Inaugurated by the Secretary of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Ranjana Chopra, the event brought together designers, craft practitioners and textile enthusiasts from across the country. The panel discussion themed 'What Makes Tribal Weaves Timeless?', explored how traditional knowledge can be preserved while creating contemporary design and new market opportunities. The showcase further featured GI-tagged Kotpad cotton, Tussar, Eri and Muga silk, Toda and Dongria embroidery, alongside designer collections from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and Anju Modi, Warli and Gond art demonstrations, and a felicitation of tribal master artisans....
