oncern grew late Saturday night as news spread that Asha Bhosle had been admitted to a South Mumbai hospital. By Sunday morning, those fears were confirmed, as the legendary singer passed away at 92. She had been admitted on Saturday evening due to exhaustion and a chest infection. Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed her passing and said her last rites will be held on Monday.
One of India's most iconic and versatile playback singers, Bhosle built a career spanning over eight decades. Born into the legendary Mangeshkar family, widely regarded as the first family of Indian music, she carved a distinct identity for herself, singing in over 20 languages and recording more than 12,000 songs. In 2011, Guinness World Records recognised her as the most recorded artist in music history.
