The curtain falls on fashion week
India, Oct. 14 -- Day 4 of the Fashion Week was a vibrant display of creativity that blended classic designs from established design houses with the innovative spirit of emerging talent.
Designer Suneet Varma, for example, took the classic route, using singer Cher and actor Zeenat Aman as muses for his ready-to-wear collection. The line comprised structured blazers, flouncy skirts and eye-catching co-ord sets that showed off the garments' adaptability.
Meanwhile, the students of Pearl Academy showcased their design talents on the runway, re-imagining jute and khadi to give the traditional fabrics a modern spin with interesting silhouettes.
Designer Ravi Bajaj elevated menswear with his Lumina collection, with dramatic metallic touches, 3D accents, shimmery crystals and flirty tassels. Also going experimental was designer Rina Dhaka, who used plisse textures and intricate hand embroidery, giving her line Out of Africa a distinct and nostalgic '90s feel.
Capping it all off on the last day was the TIL by Ankur Verma showcase. Kantha and patchwork made for visually arresting garments that stole the spotlight, further complemented by the layering that has become a quintessential part of his design ethos....
