India, Aug. 5 -- Driving a grassroots initiative to empower women from underserved communities, a new tailoring skill development centre was inaugurated at Birondi, Greater Noida, on Monday. Established by Delhi-based NGO Abhinandan Educational & Welfare Society with the support of Engineers India Limited (EIL) under its CSR programme, the AbhiNAARI Pragati Tailoring Skill Development Centre will train women in industry-ready tailoring and garment-making skills. The initiative seeks to promote self-reliance, encourage small-scale entrepreneurship and create avenues for long-term financial independence. The programme began with a traditional welcome, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Dignitaries toured the centre, interacted with trainees and instructors, and watched live demonstrations of techniques included in the training curriculum. The visitors also reviewed the facilities and appreciated the centre's focus on practical, market-oriented skill development. htc...
