India, Feb. 27 -- Delhi University's Miranda House turned into a sea of glowing flashlights and full-throated sing-alongs as singer Tulsi Kumar headlined the college's annual cultural fest, Tempest. For Tulsi, the evening carried a personal connection as she returned to campus, this time as a performer. "It seems like a full circle of life for me because I'm also a Delhi girl! I was also in a girls' college in Delhi. I'm from LSR (Lady Shri Ram College)," she said onstage. The campus quickly transformed into a sing-along arena as Tulsi belted out soul-stirring songs, including Tera Ban Jaunga (Kabir Singh, 2019), Tum Jo Aaye (Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, 2010) and Soch Na Sake (Airlift, 2015), with students lighting up the grounds with their phone torches on. Between sets, she also doled out some gyaan as a senior: "Each of you can reach the stars! You just have to dream big, and follow three things that I follow to the T: practice, persistence, and very importantly, patience." The performance left many students emotional. Many recorded, many cried, most simply sang. "It honestly felt like she was talking directly to us," said second-year student Rhea Malhotra. Aditi Sharma, another second-year student, added, "Tulsi performing Tum Jo Aaye was surreal. But what stayed with me was her talking to us and giving us advice as one of us."...
