India, March 26 -- On Tuesday afternoon, actor R Madhavan shared an Instagram Reel addressing the row surrounding a smoking scene in the recently released Dhurandhar The Revenge. The scene in question shows Madhavan's character, Ajay Sanyal, reciting a verse from the Dasam Granth, attributed to Guru Gobind Singh, to Ranveer Singh's character Jaskirat Singh Rangi, while reportedly smoking a cigarette. However, the actor has maintained that precautions were taken while filming to avoid any offence, and that the smoking did not occur at the time of the lines. "(Director) Aditya Dhar ji ne mujhse kaha tha ki ye line bolte waqt aap cigarette bujha dijiye. Na aapke mooh se dhuan niklega, na screen par dikhaya jaega, na hi haath mein cigarette hogi. Yeh humare liye bohot paak aur pavitra hai," the 55-year-old said in the Reel. Reiterating his respect, Madhavan said, "Agar kisi ko jaane-anjaane mein bura laga hai to maaf kijiyega." The controversy escalated after Gurjyot Singh Keer, president of a Maharashtra-based Sikh body, alleged that the scene hurt religious sentiments and reportedly filed an FIR at Mumbai's Mulund Police Station, naming Madhavan, Ranveer, and Aditya. htc...
