Jenna Ortega to star in Leos Carax's next film
India, May 22 -- Actor Jenna Ortega is set to star in French filmmaker Leos Carax's next feature, Lily May B, announced at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. The dystopian, surreal road film is slated to begin shooting in Spring 2027 and marks the first collaboration between the two.
The project is a follow-up to Carax's 2021 musical romance Annette, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, which opened Cannes '21 and earned him the Best Director award.
Produced by Hugo Selignac under Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, the upcoming film is described as emotionally raw and visually striking - hallmarks of Carax's cinema.
Speaking about the collaboration, Selignac said, "To me, Leos Carax is one of the reasons I fell in love with cinema. having the chance to embark on this first journey alongside him means a great deal to me." He added that the film reflects Carax's "singular vision" with its "freedom, raw emotion, and visual power," and said, "Seeing this universe meet Jenna Ortega's immense talent today feels simply natural."
Additional cast members are expected to be announced in September.
