Jaya Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman pay final respects to Kamini Kaushal
India, Nov. 20 -- A
prayer meet for veteran actor Kamini Kaushal, who died last week at the age of 98, was held in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. Members of the film industry attended the gathering to pay their final respects.
Actor-MP Jaya Bachchan, who had worked with Kaushal in Uphaar (1971), was among the first to arrive and was seen greeting others. Actor Waheeda Rehman reached shortly after; the two were briefly seen speaking (see left) before entering the hall. Actor Raza Murad was also present.
Kaushal, whose career began in the mid-1940s, was known for early landmark works such as Neecha Nagar (1946), Shaheed (1948), Ziddi (1948) and Biraj Bahu (1954). She continued to appear in significant films across later decades, including Daag (1973), Kabhie Kabhie (1976), Chandni (1989), Yugpurush (1998) and Lagaan (2001), marking a career that spanned more than seven decades.
