India, June 7 -- Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Jeremy London, in an Instagram video on Tuesday, says the old belief that moderate alcohol consumption adds years to life came from studies that compared drinkers with non-drinkers. The problem, he says, was that many in the non-drinking group were former drinkers who had quit because of existing health issues. That made moderate drinkers appear healthier by comparison.
