India, Feb. 19 -- In the game of designs , when art and aesthetics get checkmate, Delhiites get to know that it's time to head to Okhla and view this play at India Design ID. From awe-inducing lighting to eye-pleasing decor and furniture, the event will showcase craftsmanship of more than 150 Indian and international luxury brands. This year's theme of Age of Design Syncretism will get an uptick with a French Art de Vivre pavilion. "The exhibitors are presenting work shaped by cross-pollination, where craft meets contemporary form, local materials meet global techniques, and tradition is re-authored rather than repeated. The theme captures this moment of design languages," says fair director Misha Bains, adding, "The exchange [with French art] isn't about borrowing aesthetics, it's about building new work through references and collaboration." The collectibles include some eye-catching artefacts too, such as the Hymn of Joy by designer Siddhartha Bansal, who says, "Joy is not decoration - it's resistance, it's healing, it's design in its most human form... This work is not about looking back at myth, but about asking it to walk beside us - to help us imagine a world led by generosity instead of division."...
