India, April 30 -- The lead single from American singer Taylor Swift's second album, Fearless (2008), Love Story has etched its name in history as one of her most popular songs till date. In an interview on Thursday, she reveals how her strong emotions from one of the incidents at 17, is what sparked the creation of the song.
Speaking to The New York Times Magazine, who named her among 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters, Taylor said, "I think the first time I felt I don't care if people hate this because I love it so much was when I wrote the song Love Story when I was 17, sitting in my bedroom, mad at my parents because they wouldn't let me go on a date with a guy who was too old so I shouldn't have been on a date with him anyway."
She jokingly added, "And this is why you need to discipline your kids because they might write songs that go (to) Number 1".
Taylor, who has been writing songs since she was 12, has several hits to her name that have been inspired by her real-life instances. "I have this very strong opinion that when you're young, you feel things on such an intense and detailed level," she adds.
While she loves making music for her fans, Taylor doesn't let the perception of others dictate it. "Oftentimes, when I love it (a song) to a certain degree, that tends to match up with people. And it could be that it doesn't match up with the way people feel until six years later," she shares, adding, "I loved the Reputation (2017) album. I was like, 'You guys say what you want. I know what I did. I love it... You can come around if you want. It's okay if you don't.'" HTC...
