India, July 27 -- H ariyali Teej is here, bringing with it the sweet aroma of ghewar, the rhythmic clinking of bangles, and long queues at mehendi stalls. As tradition and festivity come alive in vibrant hues, city markets are buzzing with activity - here's what's trending: In Connaught Place, just outside the iconic Hanuman Mandir, mehendi artists barely pause for a breather. Jagjeevan, perched on a low stool with a steady cone in hand, says, "Designer mehendis are the rage nowadays, but many are specifically asking for Madhubani-style mehendi this Teej. Floral, leafy motifs, gol chakra and mandala designs are top picks." Another artist, Shashi, adds, "We offer everything: Arabian, bridal, Rajasthani, but Teej ke liye iss baar logon ko jhoola aur peacock wale designs sabse zyada pasand aa rahe hain. Some are also searching for specific designs and sharing screenshots with us to ask, 'Aap yeh wala design laga paoge?'" The artistry comes at a price. At New Friends Colony's Community Centre, mehendi artist Ranveer Singh shares, "Basic designs start at Rs.300 for both hands, but if you want something intricate, it can go up to Rs.3,100. Teej mehendi is all about detail and grandeur." His neighbour, Ravi Rajasthani, agrees. "Full haath waali mehendi Rs.2,000 both hands ka price hai aaj ke din." What's Teej without a plateful of syrup-soaked ghewar? While the classics: malai, khoya and rose, remain favourites, mithaiwalas across the city are now reimagining this Rajasthani delicacy. In Pitampura, Shivam from Gulab confirms, "Kesar ghewar is our signature, but this Teej we've launched Kunafa Ghewar and Paneer Ghewar. Kiwi ghewar is doing well too. We easily sell over a thousand pieces during Teej week."...
