India, May 15 -- After weeks of frantic searches and social media campaigns, Delhi's animal lovers finally have reason to celebrate. Kaddu, the beloved community dog who disappeared from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on March 26, has finally been found. The post about Kaddu's rescue went viral on social media, and came to the notice of senior advocate Percival Billimoria. "When I saw the post (of Kaddu being found), my heart melted. I had to bring her home and shelter her," shares Billimoria, who also cares for 25 adopted strays. He also informs that the doggo has now been vaccinated, groomed, and is slowly settling into her new life, spending her days roaming around the lawns of her new home in Pushpanjali farms. Kaddu's disappearance had sparked outrage among animal rights activists, and feeders, rescuers continued their efforts to search her. Posters flooded neighbourhoods, volunteers carried search drives, and the matter even reached the courts. On Tuesday, animal feeder Mohit Lamba spotted Kaddu near Shahbad Mohammadpur, a village nestled behind the airport near Dwarka. "When I saw her, I immediately alerted the rescuers," he says. By 11pm, activist Rashim Sharma, one of the key voices demanding answers over Kaddu's whereabouts, reached the spot with her team and did a quick check for any injuries: "Apart from a slight limp in one leg, she was fine; just disoriented."...
