India, July 21 -- A jam-packed hall of well-wishers cheered Vidhi Bansal as she recently presented her arangetram at the Chinmaya Mission Auditorium in New Delhi. Trained entirely by her Guru, Padma Shri Geeta Chandran, at NATYA VRIKSHA, Vidhi proved she was a chip off her Guru's block. She danced with both verve and aplomb. Chief Guest Satish Upadhyay, MLA, Malviya Nagar, praised the young dancer for her discipline and dedication as a disciple. Other special guests included Arti Upadhyay, social worker, and Monica Sagar, Founding Director, The Knowledge Habitat Schools under the Shiv Nadar Foundation. Senior Kathak Guru Dr Puru Dadheech and dance scholar and author Leela Venkataraman were also seen enjoying Vidhi's performance. As Geeta Chandran said, making a classical South Indian dance form like Bharatanatyam meaningful for a child from a North Indian family requires a special pedagogy that brings both Guru and Shishya onto the same page.HTC...
