India, Dec. 11 -- Bhavitha Mandava, who became the first Indian girl to open a Chanel show for designer Matthieu Blazy, became an overnight sensation with everyone on the Internet wondering who she is. She recently took to Instagram to thank everyone who has been a part of her journey. The Chanel show was special for her because the show took place at the NYC subway, and coincidentally, she was also scouted at the Atlantic Avenue subway station. Taking to Instagram, she shares how it "felt like a dream" and how her journey began as a model. "Two years ago, I left India with a massive student loan. I moved to New York City to study at NY University. Then, a year ago, at the Atlantic Avenue subway station, Showin Bishop scouted me. I said no, but we kept talking. When he mentioned I could pay off my student debt, suddenly no became maybe, okay, fine." Thanking those who helped her get here, she adds, "Showin Bishop sent my photos to Bitton and through her, I found myself in front of Matthieu Blazy. Since meeting him, the world feels brighter, softer, and full of possibility." The 25-year-old says that she had to constantly juggle between work and academics, but the support of the people around her kept her going. "My parents never asked me to chase the extraordinary. They only wanted me to find happiness and peace in simplicity." Lastly, acknowledging her identity as "an immigrant and woman of colour," she thanked both Chanel and Matthieu Blazy. htc...
