FIR filed in Manjari Fadnnis' society dog brutal killing case
India, June 12 -- A
fter actor Manjari Fadnnis posted a disturbing video on Instagram on Monday about the brutal killing of a dog from her housing society in Madh Island, an FIR has finally been lodged by her neighbour, Sanket Kadam. According to reports, the FIR was registered at Malvani police station against five individuals.
Fadnnis, known for her work in the 2008 film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, tells us, "Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratories has initiated a field forensics probe and collected whatever evidence they can. The cops are now procuring the CCTV footage. We just want Justice for Mikey."
In the video, the visibly devastated actor recounted how Mikey, a dog from her housing society, was allegedly killed and dumped on a beach by miscreants. Recalling the ordeal, she says, "I thought he might be hanging around somewhere, but after a few days passed, we got worried and started searching for him," adding that more than a week later, a neighbour informed her that Mikey had been brutally assaulted and dumped on the beach while still alive.
In her video, Fadnnis revealed that the informant told her Mikey was sleeping in the building's basement when he was struck on the head and beaten until he began bleeding from the mouth. "In a half-dead stage, they put him inside a goni (sack) and threw him off into this khadi (creek)," she adds.
"How can someone do this?" she asks, with a lump in her throat.
Fadnnis shared that Mikey had come into her life about five years ago and soon became an important part of it: "He used to stay near my staircase. I got very close to him over time. I would play with him and take care of him."...
