India, Feb. 14 -- F ilmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar is set to make his Hollywood debut in director Sam Mendes' upcoming four-part biopic on English rock band The Beatles, the makers announced on Thursday. The 52-year-old will portray Indian sitar maestro, the late Pandit Ravi Shankar, who influenced musician George Harrison, introducing him to the sitar and Indian classical traditions. This inspired songs featuring the sitar and other Indian instruments on tracks such as Norwegian Wood, Love You To, Within You Without You and The Inner Light, among others. The project comprises four interconnected films, each narrated from the perspective of one of the Beatles members: musicians John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
