India, June 14 -- Like every year, the Delhi University admission season is under way for both postgraduate and undergraduate courses. But, before the actual entry on campus, the annual ritual of PG hunt has taken a serious turn. After the recent fire incidents across Delhi, many outstation students and parents are putting fire safety first, asking about escape routes, extinguishers, wiring, and AC maintenance before finalising rooms. Akshat Verma, a DU aspirant from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, who is house-hunting with his parents, tells us, "I'd rather live in a slightly smaller room or a bit farther from college, as long as the building has a clear fire escape route and has undergone safety drills. After all, you can't put a price on your life."
