India, Oct. 4 -- It's been eight years since Daniel Day-Lewis walked away from cinema following Phantom Thread (2017), declaring he wanted to "explore the world in a different way". But now, the three-time Oscar winner has made a bold return in Anemone, a film he co-wrote and brought to life under the direction of his son, Ronan Day-Lewis. What started as a small project between father and son grew into a full-blown feature. "It saddened me that I had perhaps ruled myself out of that when I decided to work on something else for a while," Day-Lewis said in a joint interview with Ronan, adding, "As we progressed, it began to alarm me slightly. I understood that this was going to involve the full paraphernalia of a film production but we just kept moving forward." In the film, Daniel portrays Ray Stoker, a hermit living in seclusion in a remote cabin. His estranged brother Jem (Sean Bean) arrives, urging Ray to reconnect with his teenage son. Though the film is not autobiographical, the emotional stakes run deep in this father-son creative gambit. Anemone premiered at the New York Film Festival last month and will release in India on October 10.htc...
