India, June 9 -- Fresh from becoming the first Indian to win the prestigious Norway Chess title, Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa had an unexpected challenge waiting for him during a felicitation ceremony in Chennai on Monday. After presenting the 20-year-old with a Rs.50 lakh cheque from the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay surprised him by asking for a chessboard and playing a 15-minute game. Praggnanandhaa won the friendly contest, later revealing that he had "no idea the Chief Minister played chess". The Norway Chess champion, who recently defeated World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen twice en route to the title, said Vijay was "very supportive and encouraging" during the meeting....
